Nationwide shortage of heartworm treatment has led to limited treatment options for dogs with heartworms!
This shortage of heartworm treatment may be long-term, and since heartworms are spread by mosquitos this is a significant issue! Here at Prince Frederick Animal Hospital, we STRONGLY recommend ALL dogs  be taking monthly year-round heartworm preventative medicine. Call AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to schedule a heartworm test IF your dog is not on  monthly heartworm preventative!
